On the 5th November as part of our contemporary workshop we took part in an online performance through www.twitter.com. Writing a tweet in under 140 characters provides you with fragments of feelings/thought/opinion and information. Because our performance is created through the use of fragmented speech, this experiment proved to be inspirational, alongside T. Etchells article – ‘Certain Fragment.’

T. Etchells explores the notion of writing by looking at different examples of why or how a text can be written, focusing on real life situations;  ‘A love letter… A text for people to find in their wallets, days later when you are forgotten.. A text for someone to find in the street.’ (Etchells, 2009, p.99).  I took the time to write a simple love letter and it enabled me to realize that through the use of head space and dysfunctional storytelling we are able to create a performance for the audience, with the use of their imagination, that can take place anywhere and can be anything.

To help us gain more inspiration and generate ideas to develop our story even more I decided to hashtag certain words on twitter to provide us with fragmented public ‘thoughts’.
